Welcome to The Fragrant Garden Page.

On to the Fragrant Garden>>> Page.

As Rob and I have been working on landscaping and otherwise making our rented house a home, we've discovered an interesting difference between us. He prefers plants because of how they look, and I prefer them because of how they smell. From talking with others who are interested in plants, I've discovered that more people are like Rob and select plants based on color, texture, height, and other visual cues. If you've wandered here; however, it's likely that you prefer thinking about the fragrance your garden will give you as much as me.

Some of the plants that are listed here are common, while others have taken me quite a bit of digging on the web to find. Some of the pictures here are taken and scanned by Rob and I, while others were found various places on the web. Where possible, I've included a link back to the original page for those found elsewhere.

One caveat to consider. I live in North Carolina and grew up in Virginia, so I am biased towards plants that grow in the South East. This is probably also partly because I have an interest in landscaping that doesn't require much work (like watering and spraying). Natives do particularly well for this.

All that aside, if you know of a plant that I don't have listed that smells heavenly, please e-mail me and let me know. I'd love to find out more. Thanks and enjoy.
